‘Anyone can do that’ is a comment I sometimes hear people say when they see a fluid artwork. I have to admit, it looks easy doesn’t it?

2021, halfway through the year, and finally I can get out and meet people once more. For someone who isn’t a social butterfly, even I was so looking forward to meeting people who wanted to know more about my work. I love having the opportunity to talk about what I do - there’s only so much you can go on about with family and friends!

The highlight for me so far was at this year’s Art in the Pen at Skipton. I was chatting with a couple of elderly ladies about doing workshops and aiming to make a really large scale painting. The quieter lady of the two suddenly exclaimed that she’d always wanted to get a really big canvas, cover it with paint and roill around on it - naked! It made my day.
